One of my favourite aspects of graphic design projects is character design and illustration. It can be one of the most creative and rewarding design pieces. It all starts with a story, or a history, why is the character as they are? What happened to them before this point? This can help me to decide their personality and emotions, and this can then be shown in their character design. All my characters start as hand drawn sketches, and can go through many different versions before finding the right one. The characters in the Andrell Education designs were for the education sector, and had to have certain characteristics and physical features to aid children with learning.
